The cost to join the DCIS PTSA is $10 per person (students also pay $10). You can pay for your membership(s) onlineSee the SignUp Genius for ways you can be involved in 2019-2020.

You can also contact me at 303-913-4845 or dcis.community@gmail.com if there is something else you can offer, or if you have any other questions or comments.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

NEWSLETTER EDITOR NEEDED!

Our two longtime newsletter editors will be vacating their positions at the end of this school year as the last of their kids will graduate. We already have one parent volunteer who is interested in taking over and are looking for another. Having two is hugely helpful for lightening the load and providing coverage during absences, time off, etc.

No experience needed — we will train. Proofreading/editing skills and an eye for detail are desirable. Once you're trained, you can expect to spend about an hour a week (sometimes more, sometimes less) to get the newsletter out on Wednesday night/Thursday morning. You'll also learn how to send out push notifications through the school app (super easy).

Please send an email to dcisconnect@gmail.com by Friday, Aug. 30, detailing your interest and any related skills/experience. We hope you'll join us! It's a great way to keep on top of what's going on at the school and to get to know DCIS staff, other parents and students.
TRAVEL CENTER NEWS...

WHERE IN THE WORLD?
Many of you traveled this summer! It would be super cool to have postcards from your travels on this bulletin board downstairs to show where you have been.  You can mail them to the PTSA at 574 6th Ave., Denver, CO 80204. If you don't want to mail them, you can just bring them to school, put your name on them and place them in The Travel Center Inbox in the front office when you return. It's always fun to see where we have all been (from Breckenridge to Timbuktu) and sets the tone for adventure and travel for the school year.

MIDDLE SCHOOL JOURNALISM OPPORTUNITY...

BECOME A COLORADO KIDS REPORTER

The Colorado NIE (Newspapers in Education) youth journalism program provides an opportunity for students under the age of 14 to join a community of writers, have a forum, increase their writing and photography skills, review products, books and movies, and share ideas with other youth.  We mentor the reporters as writers and photographers and provide periodic workshops. Reporters post their stories and photos to our youth journalism website.

There is NO CHARGE to participate. There are no minimum or maximum levels of participation. Reporters (and their families) decide how much time to commit. If you would like the chance to write about events and people in Colorado and to review books, toys, games and movies, here is your chance. Get your application in and join us!
